Soooo I like posting random crap...

August 6th, 2011 (12:44 am)

...and find writing serious posts for my other blogs tiresome sometimes and not that much fun. SO, I am venting, cathartically, if that's a word, through this journal with all the random crap that I am bursting to write about but that isn't high brow enough (sorry!) for my "professional" blogs.

One - en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Andrej_Pejic - this is Andrej Pejic, a 19 year old Serbian/Australian guy who is the first male model in the world to walk on a FEMALE runway. He is...well...gorgeous, for a girl and a boy. My sexuality has never been so confused.

Two -  I ruined my new favourite song, Someone Like You by Adele, for myself when I was singing it to myself the other day and realised that the line, "I wish nothing but the best for you too," could be misconstrued as "for U2" and now I just see Bono's smug arse-face. Great.

Three - I have a crush on Mila Kunis. she is so cute and down to earth and OMG very hot in Black Swan.

EDIT - More androgyny confusion - http://models.com/models/andrej-pejic.

"The best moments in reading are when you come across something - a thought, a feeling, a way of looking at things - that you'd thought special, particular to you. And here it is, set down by someone else, a person you've never met, maybe even someone long dead. And it's as if a hand has come out, and taken yours."

Crazy Plans

August 8th, 2009 (09:27 pm)

Marcus is officially kicked out of uni as King's College are BASTARDS. Honestly, dealing with them is like dealing with a computer, it is so impersonal and weird, they don't actually care for their students. He never really got to appeal. Ridic.

Anyway. The life plan continues.

I have a job in Nomad as of last week, which is like a backpackers dream shop with all the stuff you'd need like boots, bags, books etc. Start there on tuesday part time :) Also hopefully getting an interview for Sandeman's tours of London, I got a phone call last week saying they have had 5000 applicants, but that mine was particularly strong and that they would like to take me on! So by the end of next week I might have 2 part time jobs!

Marcus is working in Ellis Brigham now, which is similar to Nomad but more focussed on moutaineering. When he started there he heard that a guy was off at the moment because he is climbing unclimbed virgin peaks in Kyrgyzstan...wow. Now Marcus had been saying for ages he wants to do something crazy before he joins the army, cycling to Moscow was one idea, climbing Kilimanjaro was another. They were a bit blaaaah, but this sounds PERFECT. Plus I have wanted to go to the "-stans" for ages now, as I feel they are the last places on earth NO ONE goes to (apart from maybe the Suriname, Burkina Faso and Central African Republic, but they're up there on my list too!) and Marcus could do his crazy thing at the same time.

So, a plan is forming that whilst he goes off climbing his mountains, I will fly with him to Bishkek, then do the Central Asia leg of the Silk Route! Probably starting in Kazakstaaaan, greatest country in the world! then going through all those crazy little places, Turkmenistan, Tajikistan and Uzbekistan, taking about 3 weeks in total.

Yes. I am mental.

I'm moving! - tinastravellingtales.wordpress.com

July 27th, 2009 (08:16 pm)

It may have escaped your notice, but I don't come on here very much any more. I am afraid to say university and growing up have meant LJ just doesn't do it for me any more.

But fear not!

I have graduated (with a 2:1 no less!) and have decided on my life plan and to follow my dream as a travel journalist. Ergo I have a spangley new blog over on wordpress.com, all about my travelling exploits which will also cover stories from my up and coming gap year and whatever else comes into my head. I launched it last night and am trying to drum up a bit of interest, so take a peek if you fancy, I am writing my first proper article tonight about the breakaway communist republic of Transdnietr in Moldova which I was lucky enough to visit on my trip around Europe over the last 6 weeks.

So if you fancy a gander, head on over to Tina's Travelling Tales!

I apologise I have been so shit on here and I hope everyone is well and fulfilling their own dreams and ambitions. I had a wonderful couple of years on this site, but will be deleting the blog in the up and coming weeks and moving everything to my new site.

So long and thanks for all the fish,

I have a new job as a cocktail waitress in a posh bar in Islington :) It is called The Living Room and apparently my branch is like the poor relation, as in all the others are really popular with celebrities. The one in Chester, appare David Beckham took Cameron Diaz to when she come over from New York. Ours isn't so much like that lol, however I do get about £200 a week, or at least I should be :) I love it there!

Oh yeah, I am saving up for a gap year, that's why I'm doing it :) I am going interrailing with Marcus next summer and then going traaavvelling hopefully :)

I'll post pictures later when the deed has been done. Marcus helped me choose the style lol, bless him :)

Oh unless I look like a tramp in which case I am going into hiding for a month until it grows back :P

AAAAAAAAAAAAH!

September 12th, 2008 (04:09 pm)

So you know I said I was scared of flying.

Well, we LITERALLY nearly crashed on the way to Hungary cos they were having a heat storm just over Budapest when we were trying to land. It was the most terrifying experience of my life and I had nightmares all the time I was there. I nearly got the train back I was so scared.

It was dark and really bumpy and we got to just above the ground and all of a sudden the plane was facing the wrong way and I thought we were going to crash back first. There was thunder and lightening and the emergency lights above the exits and along the foot way came on and were flashing. I screamed and it was only after about 2-3 minutes when we had climbed up that the pilot came over the tannoy to say we had to take off again in mid air because there were 100mph winds and we couldn't land.

So yeah. We circled for 30 minutes and then attempted again and the wind speed was 15mph by then and it was all fine.

Everyone clapped when we finally touched down.

But yeaaah. Hungary was awesome and Budapest is amazing. There was a flasher, it was hilarious.

Hmmm

September 5th, 2008 (03:06 am)

It is just gone three in the morning and I am feeling philosophical.

And this is over the whole debate about the LHC of CERN being turned on next week and bringing about the apocalypse, btw, as it is playing on my mind......as impending doom does.

So say we all do get sucked under Switzerland next wednesday; our bodies would be stretched out of all proprtions to the point we can no longer breath, then we would be compressed into the dense and growing black hole. Would it be so bad? I mean yeah. It would be painful to a point I assume, and probably very scary too, but after that...nothing. No worries, no thinking about money or love or security, and no poverty or suffering. Death is something that is going to happen eventually to us all anyway, so why not just finish the earth off now. Kill everyone before they are able to make more people who are just going to die in the end. Or stop millions from having no quality of life at all in a mental asylum, nursing home or third world country.

The earth and mankind are amazing and wonderful and all that, but at the end of all things, nothing matters. Existence of everything has to end at some point, and as a race we aren't likely to survive that long in the grand scheme of things anyway. We will be a mere blip in the history of the earth and even more insignificant in the history of the universe.

Plus the delicious irony of our insatiable curiosity killing us is too great. It's a shame we wouldn't be around to appreciate it afterwards.

Maybe that's how the Big Bang started off in the first place. And the natural progression is to get to this point and then we get too intelligent and just destroy everything we discovered and learnt and it just starts all over again. And in another billion kajillion years a new race of people will get to the point where they say, "you know what would be a really great idea? Recreating the moment after the Big Bang in a huge underground machine!"

Having looked for a job online for the last 3 months and finding nothing I like the sound of I am now considering doing a Masters Degree in International Journalism...

Someone 'Mad, bad and dangerous to know' [userpic]

Ew...

September 1st, 2008 (09:25 pm)

Gradually over the last 4 days my face and neck have slowly but surely become more and more covered in hives, itchy flesh coloured lumps and it looks horrible!! ARGH! I am going to the doctor tomorrow to get an allergy test done as as I am getting older I am getting increasingly more allergic to more things. I am already horrifically bad with the cat, my eyes puff up and itch and I can't breath and feel sick.

I bet I am allergic to something really annoying, like gluten.

Marcus is working up in Newcastle atm, and his housemate is allergic to gluten. She was really hard to cook for! I went and visited him and stupidly tried to get the train back on a sunday and got stuck in Sheffield for 4 hours before my parents could come and get me, then it took 3 hours to drive back cos of crap traffic. Livid.

My icon is ironic, cos I look anything but cute atm. I look like I have really bad acne.

Three things.

Best race of the Olympics was Christine Ohroughou winning the 400m and the commentator not even realising she was winning until the last few seconds and randomly yells her name when he does. The best ones are the unexpected wins.

Chris Hoy is phitt. My loins burn for him.

The are doing a remake of Rocky Horror next year. Tooo happy!

Someone 'Mad, bad and dangerous to know' [userpic]

Wtf!?

August 24th, 2008 (02:48 pm)

Our London part of the Olympics ceremony was REALLY weird. They tried to tout it as "funky" and "a different beat" but WTF!?!?! Leona Lewis!? David Beckham!? PLEASE!

And the weird skit with the Red Double Decker and people waiting for it dancing with umbrellas - it's SO true, you think London you think rain.

That little Chiense guy that wrestled the others for the ball David Beckham kicked was hilarious though, he looked SO pleased with himself lol.

The Chinese closing thing is weird and I thought the torch being extingushed was very anticlimatic, what was with the 3 people on the aeroplane steps, they could have least boarded a plane or something cool!

Oh god. Typical. Just as I about to leave for Poland, I quickly check my e-mails and see the AOL headline "150 feared dead in holiday plane horror".

Fuck.
